Studying at Worcester College

Worcester College is one of Oxford’s most picturesque settings, combining medieval buildings, Georgian architecture, and modern facilities—all within a short walk of the city centre. Founded in 1714, the college boasts tranquil gardens, a peaceful lake, and a relaxed atmosphere that encourages thoughtful learning and exploration.

Our courses at are hosted for two distinct age groups. Students aged 13–15 enjoy small-group learning (maximum 8 per class) focused on participation, group tasks, and foundational academic skills. Those aged 18–24 follow a tutorial-style model—completing two pieces of independent work and exploring them in 1:1 or 2:1 tutorials with an expert tutor. Each age group benefits from a learning structure suited to their stage, with space to develop confidence and deepen understanding.

Who Studies Here and How They Learn

Worcester welcomes a diverse community of learners from around the world. Each course typically hosts 35–95 students aged 13–15, and 25–70 students aged 18–24, creating a dynamic mix of academic engagement and cultural exchange.

Younger learners (13–15) work closely with tutors through interactive sessions, guided activities, and short research projects that introduce them to more independent ways of thinking. Older students (18–24) are encouraged to explore their subject in depth through rigorous tutorials and self-directed learning. This two-track approach ensures that every student is supported, challenged, and empowered—regardless of where they are on their academic journey.

Accommodation and Facilities

All students stay in single rooms on the main college site. For students aged 13–15, ensuite rooms are standard, with sharing possible on some dates. For ages 18–24, rooms are single occupancy and typically ensuite, though facilities may vary by allocation. Bed linen and towels are provided for all students, and kitchen access is not available in line with college regulations.

Facilities at Worcester include expansive green spaces, a serene lake, a dining hall, laundry amenities, and comfortable common areas. With full supervision for younger students and independence for older ones, Worcester offers a safe and balanced environment tailored to each age group’s needs.
